We were delighted to be selected to provide a custom built instrument for the new concert hall at the Guildhall School. This is part of the exciting multi million pound development of extensive new facilities for the school situated in Silk Street near the Barbican.
The instrument, made in Sapele to match the concert hall joinery, has 46 speaking stops across three manuals. We provided a matching plinth which provides a compartment to house the umbilical cables to connect the instrument to an array of 12 speakers housed in special chambers behind the stage. There are also 2 large bass speakers.
