Domus DK520 buzzing noise (2 replies)
Hello, The DK520 is quite an old analog model, thus parts and replacements are very much end of life. From the symptoms you describe it sounds as if the main filter caps or output devices have failed. It could also be a shorted OP Amp in the pre amp section. There are many areas that could cause this symptom. One could chase this and start replacing parts but it could end up a money pit. It may be time to look for a replacement. The Bicester main showwroon and myself have good selection of pre-owned instruments in stock. Please let us know if we can help. 01869 247 333 or 01792 721499

I have the same issue with a Baldwin C-400....it makes a loud buzzing sound as soon as it is turned on....I pulled the power supply and audio amp boards from the unit.....and will have to go through them to see what I can find.....mine uses STK086 modules in the output....and I do know that I have some bad filter caps on the power supply board as the caps are bludging at the top......if that is what is causing your issue, then it might be a relatively easy repair....however, if it something that is proprietary to the unit, then you might not be so lucky.....good luck....
Cheers

My Domus DK520 has served me well but now is unusable as it produces a loud buzzing noise when switched on. Is this the end of the line for it or has anyone a suggestion for rectifying it?
