Hauptwerk and Vivace 60 (2 replies)
HI,
We are not at all sure what you have done but lets start with a factory reset of the Vivace. Go into the control screen find menu, press enter, find utility , press enter and then go to factory settings and choose whole organ. Press enter and organ reboots after a few seconds.
Then reinstate local off by pressing S and C pistons together with the tabs that you want silent not lit. Tabs that are lit will still play the organ voice. HW should see all your pistons. Take the HW software through the learning process again.
Regards
David
Not too successful I'm afraid! Organ reset as expected and lost all internal piston memories- not the end of the world if I can map them to HW. With local off, stop tabs still flash though when I press them on and I still can't map the console pistons to Hauptwerk. Trying an autodetect on a Hauptwerk général piston then pressing a Viscount general piston, nothing happens.
However now after the factory reset, the MidiSw, MidiGt and MidiPed pistons also are no longer lit, and pressing them does nothing. Fortunately, pressing general piston 1 on memory level one seems to relight them.
Any further help appreciated....
Back to Viscount Organs Forum...
I have been using Hauptwerk with a Vivace 60 for 10 years, and it has worked pretty well in that time. I generally use a very good pair headphones for audio out, to be considerate to neighbours and as the sound is excellent, but it was only speaking to a fellow organist with a Viscount console recently that I learned that the internal voices could be silenced using local off, so allowing the console speakers to play back the Hauptwerk output (which is of interest to me with a small chamber size sample set).
However, when pressing the stop tabs, they now annoyingly flash three times before lighting (they didn't used to)- but if I click a stop on the Hauptwerk screen, the stop tab on the Vivace lights instantly without flashing. The manual does mention the flashing behaviour for stops set to local off but can I work round this so that the internal voices are silenced, but the stops don't flash (as I want the tabs to control Hauptwerk)?
Also, the fellow organist mentioned that by switching local voices off, he could program his Viscount pistons as Hauptwerk pistons to control the software virtual pistons- I've only ever been able to use the pistons to control the local stop tabs directly- experimenting has not achieved any success with this so far. The only piston that seems to be programmable directly by Hauptwerk is the 'Enc' piston.
Any help you can give would be much appreciated, as well as pointing me towards any other useful tips for using a Viscount Vivace console with Hauptwerk effectively.
Many thanks
