Hauptwerk with Viscount Envoy 350-FV (1 reply)
Since you wrote your request 4 months ago your 2 week trial will now have run out.
However the chances of you having much success with Hauptwerk within 2 weeks would have been almost none. Hauptwerk has to be set up to correctly accept the outputs from your organ - before you have done this nothing will work (as you have found). First you would need to read and understand the section of the Handbook which tells you how to set up the organ and then you would have to follow the instructions and set it up.
As a better alternative suggest you try instead a GrandOrgue organ which has no time limitations, is free and will work just as well as a Hauptwerk organ. This too has to be set up to work with your organ before you will get any response from it. Setting up the DemoV1 organ which comes with it would give you useful experience.
Another alternative which would work on one manual without any setting up is my eplayOrgan, also free and without any time limit. See https://midimusic.github.io

Back to Viscount Organs Forum...
I am looking for some basic information about using Hauptwerk with a Viscount Envoy 350-FV organ.
I have access to a two-week trial of Hauptwerk and I would like to try it with this organ, but I am quite illiterate when it comes to hardware and software, etc! I do have a USB to Midi cable, so I was able to connect my computer to the organ today. When I hit a key on the organ, it did seem to recognise the connection, as the green light on the bottom right of the Hauptwerk screen would light up. However, when I selected stops on the computer screen, nothing would play when I pressed the organ keys, not even through the computer's speakers. Ideally, I would like the sound to come through the organ's own external speakers.
Am I missing something here? Maybe I was naive to think it would be very straightforward! I would be grateful for any suggestions as to how I might get it up and running.
