Keys for Viscount/Oberheim OB-5 (5 replies and 5 comments)
I'm not familiar with this range & there's VERY little info around the web. However, this (https://www.syntaur.com/oberheim_ob.html) US based site has used keys from many of the OB range.
Hopefully you'll find a match.
Charlie, send us pictures of the keys. We may well have some in our old stock bins. Regards David
We will have TP8 but doubt we have the wedge shaped addition. I will have a look tomorrow.
Great stuff - I could try and carefully cut the wedge from the old keys and re-attach.
Sorry for the delay. Christmas rush! We have a key stick that will fit but not accept the wedge at the front end as easily. Which keys do you need? Regards David
That's great thanks for getting back to me - C (not the top C) and a G if you have them. F can replace a C if you don't have the C. Cheers
Thanks David - they appear to be a modified Fatar TP8/+ weighted key. This is a piano key but Oberheim/Viscount seem to have added some extra plastic moulding to the front to make it more like an organ key although it has a lip so it's not a waterfall key. A repair has been attempted to the 2 damaged keys which is not bad but I would like to get new keys.
Here's a picture of the organ keyboard.
And one more.....
I think there is no single organ in my country, I am from Korea, population South Korea is big, but I have never had a chance to see an organ here. So I assume there are no such places here. I do hope that the planet will shortly come to its normal rhythm of life after the pandemic, and I will be able to travel. I am going to visit the USA then and finally listen to the organ in real life.
Back to Viscount Organs Forum...
I know this is a long shot but... I need to replace 2 damaged keys on my OB-5 organ. Does anyone know if Viscount carry spares for old discontinued products?
Thanks in advance.
