MIDI files for the less well endowed? (2 replies)
John,
Thank you for the suggestion. We do have some midi files scattered about our web site for download from a mix of 2 and 3 manual organs. Hard to find so the first step I will do is bring thews together on a single page for you. We can then add recordings, Widor Toccata perhaps that will be traditional wedding fayre etc for those who like me, find the piece a real challenge.
Regards
David
Thanks David, Yes The Widor would be a good start. There is already a 3 manual version on your website recorded by Jonathon but it causes problems when he uses the choir manual. Others that I have had to turn down: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba - Handel; Grand March from Aida - Verdi; Finale from Symphony No1 - Louis Vierne;
Other people reading this post may have other ideas. As mentioned, I would have thought that a collection of ten or so midi files in similar vain would excite interest from many of your Viscount customers who would happily pay for the opportunity to offer an extended selection of wedding recessional music instead of a CD or (god forbid) a different organist. 🙂
We're still loving our Envoy 35-F. With 6 speakers and a dedicated sub-woofer, its as close to a pipe organ as your going to get.
Best wishes

I'm sure that many who play viscount organs in church can be classified as 'Sunday morning' organists. Although talented enough for Sunday worship and normal events, their repertoire may be limited when special occasions, demanding weddings and the like.
A range of 'special occasion' midi files played on a representative two manual viscount would help many to extend the music available on big occasions. There are probably ten or so titles beyond the technical capability of many organists that would be really appreciated. I am sure that a huge number of these organists would happily pay for such and this could make the project financially viable and maybe even profitable if it were to be available worldwide to Viscount owners. I would be the first in line to pay for such a collection!
I wonder, David, whether there been any thought given to such a project as perhaps an extension to the current Hymn if the Month?
Very best wishes to all Viscount and all Viscount organ owners.
