Recorded music sounding like piano (2 replies and 1 comment)
Hi,
Can I just be clear you played the hymns on the Envoy 350 using a normal registration and recorded direct to a USB pen? If you recorded the hymns on a different keyboard it may be that the midi coding for stops is not compatible with the Envoy?
Regards David
Hi David
Yes I probably didn’t make it very clear. I played the hymns on the Envoy 350 with a normal registration and recorded direct on to a USB. If I played the recording back through the organ it sounded exactly the same, but when I took the USB out and put it into my laptop and played it through the laptop it sounded like a piano playing.
I did check the USB pen was formatted with FAT32 which is something mentioned in my user manual was necessary.
Thanks
Richard
Midi records keystrokes, program change messages, volume and other data, not sound. If you are playing the hymns back on your laptop through the laptop sound card, it will not recoginze the registration you recorded on the organ and probably defaults to the piano sound for playback.

I have just been trying to record some hymns onto a USB from an Envoy 350 so that they can be played in Church when I am on holiday. When I play them back off the USB they sound like a piano rather than the organ registration I had been using. Can anyone advise me what I need to do to correct this?
