Viscount unico clv 8 - Pistons compatible with Hauptwerk software? (2 replies and 2 comments)
Hi Joaquin,
Yes all that you ask has been done. The video below will help you find the right midi settings to create the links.

Hi David,
the attached vídeo is very good and I have been able, following your instructions, to link the piston memories with Hauptwerk.
Just another questions, can I also assign programs to non memory pistons (S, 32 flute revers, tutti, Prev, Next, ...)? For instance, assign the “S” piston to function “Set” in Hauptwerk.
Thanks
Joaquin
I really do not know but if the S piston transmits a unique midi code then as I understand it the HW software will recognise it and then you can within the HW set up link that code to the action you want HW to implement. I have never used HW so that side of the fence is a mystery to me! Regards David
Thanks David
Back to Viscount Organs Forum...
Hi,
I have a Viscount Unico clv 8 (I'm very happy with it) and I use it in combination with Hauptwerk software.
I can link the keyboards, stops and swell pedal with Hauptwerk but I'm not able to link pistons, memories and crescendo pedal.
I asked hauptwerk software company and they said:
"It would appear that you can enable an option in the Unico's internal MIDI settings menu so that the pistons send MIDI program change messages. Provided that you could configure it so that each piston sent a distinct (but unchanging) MIDI message (e.g. assigning a different MIDI program change to each piston), then I see no reason that it shouldn't work with Hauptwerk currently."
Has somebody fixed this issue?
Thanks,
Joaquin
