St Matthew’s Chadderton April 2018

St Matthew’s had an older digital instrument dating form the late 1980’s and while undertaking a major re-ordering of the church decided to include the provision of a new digital instrument. We were especially pleased to be selected for this new instrument as we were in competition with a much more local supplier whose instrument we replaced.

The instrument was built especially for the church being a special moving drawstop version of the Envoy 33. Instead of the usual 5 additional stops for orchestral voices these provide a small west end division adding to the flexibility of the final specification. You will see that the speaker installation required working at considerable height which is an increasing part of the church work now carried out.

The console is in the chancel and as you see the woodwork colour is a very good match to the surrounding timber work.

We are very pleased with the service we received from Anthony Bogdan and Viscount Classical Organs Ltd (Jeremy Meager MD and Peter Prestidge).

The installation was dealt with quickly and professionally. The congregation are happy with the organ too - many positive comments were made on Easter Sunday (its first major service) and everyone was pleased with the sound, and the looks of the organ. We are all extremely happy with this instrument - it’s suits our needs and requirements perfectly.
