Waltham Abbey 2010
Truly Impressed Client, Waltham AbbeyI purchased a Viscount Envoy 35-F two manual organ from Viscount Organs in July 2010. It began a few weeks before when I arranged to visit their showroom in Bicester and I spent several enjoyable hours over two days playing the organ in their spacious purpose built showrooms. Each time I received a warm welcome and excellent assistance and advice from the directors and staff who were all very knowledgeable about the products on offer. Having decided on the purchase, I arranged with Viscount organs some changes to the designated organ stops which they were able to accommodate; the order was placed and the instrument was delivered to my property in Spain within weeks.
Once there, I was let loose on the organ and, in no time, I had mastered the functions within the on board computer – they are simple to operate, very versatile and do just what the brochures state. I am extremely impressed with the facility to change the voices within the stops and to change the parameters of the voices that, in effect, can provide a different organ of choice. I like the recording functions but, above all, I think the crescendo pedal with sixteen programmable steps really gives the ultimate control and sound to the organ. In addition, the general and dedicated pistons to all organ departments including the ten toe pistons assist me in playing any combination of stops whenever I choose. Obviously, there are many more features, too numerous to mention, but these are all explained in detail within the excellent brochures available. I am looking forward to using the facility to upgrade the organ when any future changes become available.
Due to the technology used, the sound is as near to that of a pipe organ that I have heard from a classical non-pipe organ. I get a great deal of pleasure from playing the instrument and, together with the ease of movement and control over the radiating concave pedal board, producing such truly remarkable sounds.
All in all a truly magnificent organ – really affordable and excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anybody seriously considering such a purchase.
