This Catholic church on the outskirts of Leeds has just replaced an old digital instrument with a new Viscount Envoy 35-F instrument installed by Anthony Bogdan Organs Ltd.  There are 4 external speakers and a sub bass unit on the gallery above the west end door.

Running speaker cables in a church always presents a challenge to do it neatly. So often there are columns to go round and great gaps to pass that provide no means of hiding the cables. We make a great efforts to do a good job and hide things if at all possible as we did in this particular instance using a floor  cavity. The console is near the chancel steps so it is long run to the west end and the floor cavity was only about 18 inches deep. This required our brave engineer to don his miners helmet and crawl with the cables some 30 metres back through the dirt and dust of many decades. This job done he finally emerged a happy but very much dirtier person.
