Derby Cathedral April 2021
Derby Cathedral have hired a Regent 356 after the Cousans ‘Apse’ organ failed. Its continued use will be reviewed in a few weeks time.
The Viscount instrument will play on speakers placed on two convenient locations on north and south sides of the Apse. Swell is split on both sides of the space while Great Pedal and Choir are on the north side with the choir speakers set to project more directly into the nave.
I have had a passion for church organs since the tender age of 12. I own and run Viscount Organs with a close attention to the detail that musicians appreciate; and a clear understanding of the benefits of digital technology and keeping to the traditional and emotional elements of organ playing.
