With a degree of urgency, we were asked to quote for a temporary instrument in the few days ahead of Remembrance Sunday as the pipe organ had become alarmingly unreliable. We secured the order on a Thursday and installed the instrument playing through 12 external cabinets and two sub bass speakers the following Monday with the voicing day the Thursday after that.

The school hosts a very large service on Remembrance Sunday so achieving installation in time for this was a critical part of the plan. The pipe organ is destined to have a major overhaul but this will not be possible for some years when factory space is available wherever the contract will be placed. Our instrument is therefore destined to be in use for some years and so the school decided to purchase rather than hire.
