Hire an Organ for Cathedrals, Churches, Schools and Homes

Organ Hire from Viscount Classical Organs

We are pleased to offer you a selection of our instruments for hire. This can be for a single day event (like the one we provided to James Thomas, the director of Music at St Edmundsbury Cathedral), for a prolonged period when a pipe organ is undergoing repair (as for Selby Abbey’s pipe organ restoration, at York Minster and Canterbury Cathedral) or for personal use at home.

We understand that each instance will require its own unique set of parameters, so we’d welcome a personalised conversation to tailor our quote for you.

Guide organ rental costs

The cost of hiring an organ will very much depend on these factors:

  • The location of the venue
  • The difficulty of access to the venue
  • The length of the hire
  • Whether or not an external speaker system is required
  • If any special equipment is needed for example scaffold towers for speaker placement

Personal hire for home – 2 manual digital organ

  • £45 plus VAT per week hire
  • Minimum hire period of four weeks
  • Delivery and collection charges based upon distance and access
  • Option to purchase the organ at the end of the rental period

Church/School/Public space organ hire

  • From £95 to £180 plus VAT per week dependent on size of instrument and any external audio requirements
  • Minimum charge of 7 days hire even if the instrument is required for a shorter period
  • Delivery, set up and collection costs will vary according to location (and of course the complexity of installation). If you budget on £450 plus VAT for delivery and £350 plus VAT for collection you will not be too far out.

We also have a digital chamber organ for hire which is ideal for concerts, recitals and other events.
