ACQUISITION OF PRE OWNED VIVACE 40 (1 reply and 2 comments)
Hi.
I have a vivace 40. Does adding external speakers really make a difference to the sound for home use?
Are they simple to install or does it require an engineer visit?
AS WELL AS THE SPEAKERS YOU NEED TO ADD A MORE POWERFUL AMPLIFIER. An engineer visit is advised. Clearly the customer above feels it made a great improvement but it will depend on your room size and personal preference.
I agree - it depends on the size of the room.
My music room is not big.
The pair of Wharfedales are capable for 60' square (I am led to believe).
The amplifier, which Peter installed inside the organ, is a two channel model (which suits a two manual organ fine).
Back to Viscount Organs Forum...
In early December 2017 I acquired a seven year old Viscount VIVACE 40.
Last week Peter , Viscount's Yorkshire based service engineer, came to install a pair of Wharfedales. Peter spent hours connecting them to the rear internal of the organ, then placing both Wharfedales in place in the room - very careful.
The quality from the organ's internal speakers was excellent. The added purity, broadness and reality of the sound coming from the Wharfedales is absolutely 'stunning'! The pedal 32' Violone, Open wood 16' and Trombone - well one needs to hear!! The Great Trumpet 8' - shrill and crisp. The 'Cathedral' setting of the accoustic .... !
I am very pleased with the organ and Wharfedales! Is there anyone out there who has a pair of Wharfedales with their organ? Let me know your experience. EXCELLENT.
