How to play midi file on Viscount Concerto II organ (2 replies and 1 comment)
In order to play midi files on your organ it is first necessary to record some midi files. Have you done this? Organs can normally play only midi files that they have recorded.
I suggest you read the manual again and find out how to record midi files - the manual should tell you how to display a list of recordings and select one for replay. If it does not then it is a very poor manual.
Manuals for the Concerto II are available on line - they can be read on line without downloading. I found one in moments but it was in Italian and difficult for me to read. But it certainly referred to floppy disks and midi.

Yes, I have recorded midi files already. I have the user manual. It leaves out a few steps. For example, once you insert the disk into the organ, you have to press the Disk button, then click on Enter to list the files. It doesn't mention that in the book. Once I have my files listed, none of them flash, so when I try to navigate with the cursor buttons, none of the files highlight or blink, so I can't get to the point where I select the file I want and then be able to click the "Play" and "Start" buttons. There must be another step missing since I've already found 2 steps missing. I got it to work once, but I can't remember what I did to get there.
I see your problem, it is a poorly written manual, and I cannot help with the details you need. However it is also possible your organ is faulty (perhaps intermittently).
There are on line manuals for the Concerto III organ I suggest you look at one of these or perhaps other similar manuals to get an idea of the way discs and midi files work in general on Viscount organs. They are all likely to be similar.

Back to Viscount Organs Forum...
We have a Viscount Concerto II organ. The user manual was able to show me how to read the midi files on my 3.5 disk, but didn't actually tell me how to get the organ to play the files. I know it can be done, but the person who showed me this is no longer available to help. Any thoughts?
