Recording Sequencer "File Save Error" - Chorum 40 Snag (2 replies and 2 comments)

Hi,

I have a Chorum 40 in my church and I want to experiment using the built in recording sequencer

I have two USB Sticks one and 8gig and 16gig both are seen in Windows fine and are formatted to NTFS.

Obviously I record a track and give it a file name and save but I get a "file save error" on the console screen.

I also tried formatting both sticks to Fat32 but still the same snag.

For interest I got another USB stick 64gig which can only be formatted to NTFS.

Anyone able to shed any light on this please?

It is possible that your Chorum 40 has its own formatting procedure for saving files. If so try that. Note that there are older formats than fat32 - it may need one of these especially if it is more than 10 years old (e.g. fat16 or just plain fat). It may also need a smaller (older) usb stick - large ones are recent. To record quite a few midi files you need only 100MB or so.

Hi - There's no format facility on the Organ it's all done in Windows!

I just picked up the first USB stick to hand and it worked fine in the Chorum. It was FAT 32.

Once the USB pen is inserted please wait some seconds before displaying the FILE menu.
 
The files in quotes below will be added automatically when you display the FILE menu.
These are system folders to arrange files, and they must not be deleted or renamed,
otherwise the saved files will be lost.
 
The system displays the error message "USB PEN NOT PRESENT" when accessing the
function without a USB drive connected to the instrument, or when the pen drive has not been
recognized. Should this happen, check that the pen drive is not damaged and has the correct
format.
 
To copy files with a computer to a USB drive that has never been used with the organ, it is
necessary to create the folders (described above) manually. Files must be placed in the
dedicated folder; follow the instructions on the folders and their function.
 
Always use USB pens formatted with FAT or FAT32 file system (no NTFS).
 
The folders "alls", "combinations", "settings", "styles_all" and "styles_single" can contain
up to a maximum of 64 files. The "songs" folder can contain up to 256.
 
File names cannot be longer than 31 characters (including the file extension)
