Viscount CL40 for sale (1 reply and 1 comment)
Hi. Tim. I am a self taught organist ( previously a chorister and grade 8 pianist). I currently play for a small village church in north devon, but often cover for weddings, funerals etc at any of the other 12( yes that many in our team!) in the
" Two rivers team ministry".
Our current organ is about 30 years old and has reached the end of its life. The last repair involved a chap from viscount coming from Bath area and we were told we are on borrowed time with it. It's now pretty awful. The 2 manuals aren't in tune with each other and there seems to be a permanent 'cornet' sound!
What age is your CL40 and what sort of price are you looking for?
Is it in good working order?
How come you have a collection of instruments there?!
Let me know a bit more please. I have a wedding to play for on 1st April and would like to think they will not have to listen to a very discordant current instrument!
Many thanks , Hazel Jago
Hi Hazel,
I can't tell you too much about it to be honest. We bought the church and this was one of the many organs, keyboards and pianos that came with it. From what I understand, it's in pretty good condition. It might be best if you take a look so you can make a judgment call for yourself. Drop me an email to tim.foster@system24.co.uk and we can arrange a time that's convenient.
Back to Viscount Organs Forum...
I have recently acquired a church along with a number of organs, keyboards and pianos. Amongst these is a Viscount CL40 in excellent condition. I have no use for any of these and so I'm looking for a good home for them. The church also includes a huge church organ which I currently cannot remove. Once planning is approved and we are able to remove it, the intention is to give away the organ to anyone that wants it on condition that they remove it and provide us with replicas of the visible pipes. The last valuation of the organ was over £350,000. Any offers for the smaller ones and/or contacts for whoever might want to the large one?
