We are delighted with our new Ensign 35 Compact. I have heard nothing but very positive comments from several members of the congregation about how nice it sounds compared to our old organ. It has been a joy to get it setup and to play it.
I particularly like the Baroque pipe-set with it’s colourful solo reeds. I’m still experimenting with the orchestral voices, but I expect the Chimes will be put to good use at Christmas! I believe that Viscount have got the balance between cost, features and cosmetics just right with this Ensign range – its just perfect for a smaller church with limited budget where musical flexibility and sound quality is more important than elaborate cabinetry.
Martin, Organist St. Oswald’s Croxley Green – November 2024
St Mary’s Church, Beverley is the first large PhysisPlus instrument in the UK. I and St Mary’s Musical Director are extremely pleased with the new organ. It sounded very good “straight out of the box” but since being revoiced by Viscount’s chief voicer, Francis Rumsey, it now sounds magnificent and has received many favourable comments from our choir and congregation as well as other organists, most recently Dr Carol Williams from the USA.
I cannot thank David Mason and his team enough for the time they have spent to provide St Mary’s with such a splendid instrument. It should serve as the foundation of the church’s music well into the future.
I would sincerely commend Viscount Organs UK to any organisation wanting/needing a digital organ where funding and/or space limits the installation of a traditional pipe instrument.
Michael Ellerington, Organist – September 2024
I’d been looking to buy a home instrument, considering different brands, and by chance landed on the Regent Classic website: I hadn’t previously known about this Viscount Organs “top end”. The reviews (including from those who weren’t familiar with the brand but became converts when they discovered it) convinced me to make an enquiry and, when it was warmly and professionally dealt with, to arrange to try my nearest Regent Classic instrument. Both the authenticity of the sound and the quality of the console surprised and impressed me.
I decided to buy a second user instrument, carefully maintained by Viscount, which would allow me to access a wider range of stops than my budget allowed for new. But this meant fitting a big instrument (that had previously served two Cathedrals) into the much smaller space of my rear hall. David Mason brought his technical and acoustic experts on board; they tried different speakers (ironically, we landed back with the clean lines and customised acoustics of Viscount’s own) and came up with a scheme to map the organ onto the twelve speakers plus subwoofer that the space would accommodate.
A team of three installers brought the instrument over on the ferry. I couldn’t have wished for better craftsmen: hugely knowledgeable, respectful, and extremely careful. The cables were tracked into the wall of a modern house which was replastered and painted seamlessly.
Installation was followed by basic voicing and, a few weeks later, by a specialist voicing visit where my wish list – such as a little more brightness here and there, the Great Trumpet to be a chorus reed and the Choir flute a chiffy one – was all accommodated. I was impressed in particular by how the voicer brought the Great to a sound which filled the space impressively without over-filling it. Of course voicing is a personal thing, and the Physis system has allowed me to make some further tweaks myself from the huge range of voices and adjustments available with a few button presses.
The result is a cathedral-grade instrument in my home and I am delighted with it. The quality of the console would be remarkable even for a pipe organ and blends beautifully with its surroundings; when I play I get true pipe organ sound from all angles. It has inspired me to increase my repertoire and I am much looking forward to Christmas dinner with carols around the organ! The quality of service matched the premium marque.
Gareth – July 2024
Viscount have produced just what I wanted – no need now for a round trip of 12 miles to a cold and cheerless church when I want to practise. This is a splendid instrument.
John Wormell – April 2024
I purchased a Viscount Sonus 40 to replace a small 3 stop pipe organ which had developed unrepairable air leaks and ciphers. In less than a quarter of its footprint the Viscount gives me 12 times the tonal resources, plus a host of registration aids which I would not have dreamed of in such a compact instrument. These and the four available voicing styles make possible the performance of an almost unlimited repertoire, which in my case includes Classical (both sacred and secular) and popular show music from the 17th to 21st centuries.
The instrument is a delight, and unlike its predecessor does not go out of tune or deafen the neighbours! Fortunately I had previous experience of Viscount instruments from musical friends and was quickly able to select a model from their website, suitable for my space and budget. Purchase was facilitated by the excellent online technical tutorials by David Mason and the knowlegeable customer care of Richard Patt. The instrument was delivered to my difficult address, on schedule and with the minimum of disruption. I am totally satisfied with my experience and look forward to many years of pleasure from my new instrument.
Alan Bentley – October 2023
My pre-owned Viscount Prestige IX is a beautifully crafted two manual organ, well suited as a home practice instrument or for a small church or chapel.
It has a good selection of voices on both manuals and pedals. The flute stops on the great offer gentle solo voices over a quiet swell giving a lovely ethereal sound.
Overall a very nice instrument to play.
John Trethewey – October 2023
For a returnee to organ practice like me the Viscount Sonus 70 organ has sufficient versatility and resources for a really good workout in playing music from the Baroque to Romantic periods. I’m impressed with the range of adjustments available to optimise the sound for each stop and the overall balance of sound for the organ. I am thoroughly enjoying playing it. The staff at Bicester have been very helpful throughout.
David Clitheroe – October 2023
Following the failure of the blower to our church organ we needed a temporary replacement at short notice because of several impending special services. Viscount were very responsive and delivered an Envoy organ to us in less than a week, enabling the services to proceed as planned.
The general service we received from Viscount was excellent!
Churchwarden of St Martin’s Church, East Woodhay, Oxon. – October 2022
Just a note to say how pleased I am with my new Viscount Cantorum VI plus portable organ. The sound is absolutely breath-taking in its realism and it is a huge improvement on the previous model (Good as that is). The voicing of the organ is exciting- the reeds are a huge improvement especially – they have far more presence than the reeds on the earlier keyboard.
I am simply thrilled with the organ and at present cannot leave it alone!
Home Customer – August 2022
St.Wynwallow Church, Landewednack, The Lizard (the most southerly church in mainland England) has been the home of a Viscount organ for the past 35 years. However, in the Autumn of 2021 we decided to replace it. After so many years of good service from the organ, we decided to replace it with a Viscount again.
We chose the Chorum 40 and are thrilled with the instrument. The level of service from the people we dealt with was excellent throughout – from the advice when choosing right through to the delivery and fitting.
We cannot thank Richard, Peter and Hugh enough and would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of purchasing a new organ.
Ann Bradbury – April 2022
Churchwarden/Organist at St.Wynwallow Church, Landewednack
I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the Cantorum Duo. I really enjoy playing it and my organ practice has been transformed. It is also a nice, eye-catching piece of furniture – especially the pedalboard!
Thank you for making it a very positive experience dealing with you at Bicester, and thanks also to Hugh for being so helpful when he delivered the organ last week.
Home customer – April 2022
Derby
At the end of this morning’s service, members of the congregation were queueing to sing the praises of the new organ. I have since received further enthusiastic responses by phone and email. The first hymn was Tell out, my soul and the congregation was clearly uplifted and inspired by the full organ accompaniment to the last verse. It was also a great delight to play.
Thanks to your helpful explanations and comments whilst you were setting up User 1 on Friday, I was able to set up a quiet User 2 yesterday morning, with a lovely variety of stops from the organ’s library. Not a quick exercise, however, as one is spoilt for choice!
Thanks to you and your colleagues, we now have an outstanding instrument which should enhance our worship for years to come. Roger and Hugh made an excellent team on Thursday, and did a first class job. Please do pass on our thanks to them. Finally, a most sincere thank you to you for your invaluable contribution to this project. Coming from a fellow organist, it has been enormously helpful and reassuring, and very much appreciated.

I’m writing to let you know how delighted I am with my new organ, which arrived here on Saturday.
I’ve already spent several hours on it over the weekend and I’m so pleased that it serves my needs so well, with the range of playing aids and organ style options. Apart from these things, which will be really helpful in my practice, above all I’m so pleased with the excellent and vivid digital organ sound.
A word about David and Ron, who delivered the instrument on Saturday. They were really excellent – friendly, efficient and utterly professional in their work, both here and delivering my old organ to the new owners.
So, all in all this is a wonderful development for me. I appreciate all your help, especially your welcome, David, when I visited Bicester.
With thanks again and my very best wishes,

A few weeks ago, I purchased a Viscount Chorum 90. This is now my third Viscount organ over a period of 25 years or so. I have always liked the sound of Viscount organs, but they just get better and better.
The Chorum series is definitely remarkable in terms of what you get for the price you pay. There are many pipe organs in churches that don’t sound as good as these instruments. I am only just starting to customise the organ so that it gives me the sound I am looking for. It’s amazing how you can tailor the sound of the organ to your own personal liking. I feel like I’m back in the cathedral playing this wonderful three manual organ. The quality of the console has amazed me, bearing in mind that I opted for the standard version, which is an artificial veneered wood finish. I could not tell any difference between this organ and my previous organ which was real wood finish. In terms of sound, sometimes less is more. You don’t need a full organ to get a tremendous sound. The extra stops provide the player with a comprehensive number of different registrations, making it possible to perform so many different pieces of music from different genres.
The level or service provided by the team at Bicester is outstanding – from deciding on what organ to purchase, up to delivery and installation. I know from previous experience, that it takes some time to customise a Viscount organ to your own personal liking. I have no doubt whatsoever, that you will achieve this, and the instrument you purchase, will far surpass your expectations.
Many thanks to all of you at Bicester, who have made a dream become possible!
Rev. Christian Callan – August 2021
I’m very pleased with the Chorum 40s and it represents real value for money. The lighter ‘tracker’ is just right for me. The various voices are pleasing, especially Baroque and English.
Mark Ferland – July 2021
I am delighted with my Chorum 80-S, I’m doing more practice than before discovering new music and re-discovering ‘old friends’. The instrument has such a wide variety of sounds and styles it covers everything you could want.
Having had the organ for three months I am still discovering new things and making tweaks to the setup!
I can thoroughly recommend this model if you are looking for a compact three manual.
Thank you Viscount.
David King – April 2021
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for finding the Vivace 40 for us. It is in excellent condition and an excellent organ, and my daughter absolutely enjoys playing it.
Yuan Lin – October 2020
It is often said that the most important stop on an organ is the acoustics of the building in which it is located. Our new building has a reverberation time of around 4 seconds and the new organ, a Viscount Envoy 35-F, makes best use of this acoustic. I do not think we could have chosen better than this traditional English organ. Our thanks to Anthony Bogdan for his attention to detail. From the initial advise on speaker location through to the voicing of the instrument has provided us with an incredible sound. Although it has yet to be played to accompany hymn singing due to Covid 19 restrictions, all who have heard it have commented on the superb choice of instrument.
Our thanks to all concerned for putting up with the delays in completion of our new church, partly due to Covid. Our order was initiated in July 2019 and the organ installed August 2020.
Driffield Methodist Church – August 2020
We are delighted with the purchase of our new organ Envoy35-SV. The installation and tonal finishing by Viscount was very professional and expertly carried out.
We have received many comments from members of the congregation on how good the organ sounds. Testimony of the good work carried out by Richard and the team. We look forward to the organ enhancing both worship, and concerts for many years to come at St. Paul’s.
John Sheppard – August 2020
Organist St. Paul’s Chacewater, Cornwall
I bought my Viscount Chorum 40-S in a bit of a rush just before lockdown and the Viscount team were incredibly helpful and accommodating, enabling me to get the instrument extremely quickly. The organ itself has been fantastic; I have always been a little sceptical of electronic organs, but was really pleasantly surprised.
The tracker action is excellent and the console comfortable, with a versatile selection of stops. I particularly enjoyed being able to switch between different organ styles – English, baroque, symphonic or romantic. All in all I’m incredibly pleased with it and would recommend Viscount wholeheartedly!
Anna Lapwood – March 2020
Director of Music, Pembroke College, Cambridge
Our compact and smart Viscount Chorum 40 has allowed us to fit an organ into our music school and consequently make it much easier for our pupils to access a church style organ for lessons and practice. We are also able to use it for concerts and services as and when needed.
It has a great sound which means we can introduce young organists to the many essential tonal ingredients of the organ and how to combine them effectively to make music. The pupils are certainly enjoying the new possibilities that the instrument offers.

Adrian Bawtree, Organ Teacher, Junior King’s and Organist at Canterbury Cathedral
The Sonus 60 is playing very well. I’m at the early stages of exploring its potential but it’s great having three manuals and the sound is a big step on from the Cadet, good practice organ that it was. Having toe pistons for the stepper is really good as building registration changes into playing is important.
Bryan Moseley – January 2020
Our Welsh chapel members are delighted with our new Viscount organ. Clearly we want accompaniment to our congregational singing and this the organ fulfills gloriously.
Our rota of organists are learning their way around, gaining confidence all the time. Sunday, November 10, 2019 saw the official opening of the organ with hymn singing. The renowned organist Carey Williams performed recital pieces which truly displayed the versatility of the instrument leaving us all in awe.
Thank you, Viscount Organs and Pianos Cymru, for your welcome and your advice when we visited the showroom in Bicester, for your assiduous response to our various enquires and concerns, for the delivery and set up and for your aftercare. Professional indeed. Diolch yn fawr
Carwyn Siddall – January 2020
The Sonus 60 organ has been a great success. It sounds fabulous, and the three manuals make a real difference. Visitors all most impressed.
Best wishes to all at Viscount for a very happy Christmas
Andrew Kingscote – November 2019
I have enjoyed the first month with my Viscount Cadet Compact-31, getting to know my way around it. This is an admirable home practice instrument for repertoire ranging from Bach Trio Sonatas to Howells Psalm Preludes. The various adjustments which can be made by the user mean that the specification can be tailored to the tastes of the owner. Various ranks can be substituted for others and the volume of each rank can be raised or lowered. The generous array of pistons (both divisional and general) help enormously and the ability to use the PREV/NEXT buttons for either the Generals or the memory levels is a real boon. I was delighted to discover that the Great and Pedal pistons can be coupled.
Colin Ashworth – November 2019

I originally purchased a 2 Manual and Pedal Viscount Vivace 50DL from Viscount in 2010. Over the last year I’d been thinking about upgrading to a 3 Manual and I made several visits to the Bicester showroom, trying out most of the instruments. David and his team were very patient whilst I was deciding on what I wanted, and I finally decided to purchase an Envoy 350-FV.
I play a lot of Baroque music and wanted A set to 460, coupled with Werckmeister temperament, but whereas this was easily done on the Vivace, the Envoy had a smaller pitch range and couldn’t immediately achieve this. Needless to say, David sorted out a solution, which involved transposition up a semitone and then increasing pitch by 5 hz. By resetting the base key to C# playing in the new pitch and temperament was then achieved and much appreciated. In the showroom environment I admit I wasn’t entirely convinced that the Envoy’s tonal quality greatly improved on my Vivace, but decided to purchase it anyway as it offered far more voicing facility, stop variety and of course a 3rd manual.
The instrument was delivered to my home in October and it was effortlessly installed by David Wilkinson and his assistant. As soon as I heard the instrument through my external speaker system, I realised this was a vast improvement on the Vivace and that my showroom perceptions couldn’t have been more wrong!
I’d asked for German divisional names and a variation on the stop list, and this was easily sorted by David Mason with some use of the Editor software. I now have a wonderful Baroque-style instrument, with chiffy flutes, prompt speaking principals, crisp mixtures and bright reeds which makes playing of 17th c. music a pleasure! I just love the way the instrument can be configured, and have even created a more conservative tonal scheme to mirror an English cathedral sound (Stanford played on a Baroque instrument doesn’t really work!).
I purchased the Editor software too- this has allowed me to add a 2’ flute and a 4’ reed to the pedal, making it truly independent. I can recommend Viscount highly- excellent service-thank you, and I shall enjoy playing this for many years.
Stephen Taylor, Banbury – November 2019
I am very much enjoying playing my new Viscount Chorum 80S. It is an admirably versatile instrument. It possesses a remarkably wide range of tone colours, which are conveniently accessible, and has a delightful touch. It is well suited to operating in a domestic setting.
Thank you for your offer of continuing support should I need it.
Peter Smith – July 2019
After looking for a cost effective practice organ for some time I ordered a Viscount Cantorum Duo, wide stand, bench and expression pedal unit. Viscount were easy to deal with and helpful. Richard Patt attended on delivery day and set up the system. The Cantorum does everything I need in a practice organ. The sounds are good and blend well. For a small instrument the amplifier and speaker units are remarkably good, even though I have since added a bass woofer and external speakers, the on-board speakers are effective and easily fill a moderate room. I am very pleased with this instrument, it is built well and performs ‘as advertised.’
JD – June 2019
I am indeed enjoying the Chorum 60 organ and slowly getting better at playing it. It is a very powerful instrument and has impressed a couple of friends (non-organ players themselves) that I have invited to hear it.
David Meyrick – August 2019
1st rate service!
Thoroughly enjoyed working with the impressive Viscount team in Bicester; their non-pushy and most helpful approach is all very much appreciated. With much to consider we made 6 visits – dimensions, stops, other models, pedal boards, manual surface, speakers, flexibility with MIDI interfaces, position of swell pedal, and so on; all my questions answered with great patience and understanding. A pleasure working with an excellent team, especially delivery of the beast (a superb Chorum 90) within 90 minutes of sale – take note!
Robert Tucker – September 2019
Replacing my analogue Wyvern Exeter with a digital Viscount Chorum S40 has been similar to an experience of many years ago when I had a Morris Marina and then a Jaguar XJ6. The tinny sounds of the Exeter have been replaced by a rich and deep sound which really replicates the majesty and power of a large pipe organ. Although the Chorum S40 is at the cheaper end of the Viscount range it still offers a sophisticated range of functions which are ample enough for home practice and doubtless could grace places of worship as well.
Chris Langman – April 2019
On Wednesday we had a service which was attended by around 400 people. The organ was played by both the Cathedral organist and the Diocesan Organ Advisor. It was a pleasure for me to sit back in the congregation and enjoy the magnificent sound of the Viscount organ. Long may your company continue to flourish!
Colin Towner – St. Jude’s Southsea
Richard, we can’t thank you enough for all you have done for us at Marnhull. Right from the outset, when I first telephoned. Your input made all the difference. Thank you for being so patient with your advice and guidance. Mass on Sunday was definitely up several Musical notches.
Sarah Mackay – April 2019
My thanks to all at Viscount Classical Organs for all their help and advice during our purchase of the Organ for our Church.
Major J David Matthews F A S C. Organist April 2019
I just thought I would write a quick email to you to say a huge thank you for today. I thought everything went so smoothly and you and your team of Peter and Hugh were uber efficient! I think the Envoy organ looks wonderful, sounds wonderful and will be a fantastic addition to all our services and musical happenings at Swainswick.
With very grateful thanks and very beat wishes

I have had my cadet compact 31 organ for 4 months, and remain very pleased with the sound quality. I particularly appreciate being able to modify the defined voices, which greatly increases the range of tones available. It has made a very satisfying practice instrument.
Andrew Ayre March 2019
Banking on your reputation and on the recommendation of a knowledgeable organist friend, I purchased a used Viscount organ from you “unseen” for practising at home. The whole process went seamlessly and I am thrilled with the performance and sound of the instrument. Thank you Richard and the meticulous delivery team.
Eileen Kelsey March 2019
The Diocese of Leeds Organists’ Training Programme is indebted to Viscount Classical Organs for their generous loan of an Envoy 35-F. This excellent instrument has played a great part in allowing children to learn the organ, many of whom would not have been able to otherwise. The Programme now numbers 45 young pupils, with plans to expand further in forthcoming years.
David Pipe
Director of the Organists’ Training Programme and
Cathedral Organist in the Diocese of Leeds
I am very happy with my new Viscount Compact 31 organ. The whole process from visiting the showroom to receiving the organ was very slick. The colour I wanted wasn’t available but an instrument in the required finish was located in Italy and shipped out very quickly. It’s a joy to have an instrument on which I can practise in the warmth of my own home!
Best wishes,
Jane Templeton
We have been hiring a Viscount Regent organ at Bromley Parish Church since the beginning of September while our pipe organ has been undergoing restoration. Everyone has been very complimentary about the organ and it has proved to be invaluable during the time we have been without our instrument.
Many thanks,
Frank Roddy
The Viscount Chorum 40-S is perfect for my requirements as a practice instrument. It has been installed upstairs and its slim design made this possible. It is extremely versatile with four different sound sets: English, Romantic and two Baroque styles. Pistons and sequencer are fully programmable and there are also a number of different temperaments installed. It has a well-designed stop list which works well with all periods of music. The home organ has allowed me to utilise limited amounts of time to practise, rather than having to travel to my church to do so. I was also very pleased with the price.
Kind regards,

The Envoy 35-F is a beautifully crafted instrument which is a delight to play, and has sound that fills the chapel without being overbearing, the craftsmanship is of a very high standard, and the installation went extremely smoothly, we were all very impressed from start to finish.

At last, St Mary’s has an instrument (Regent 356) with appropriate dignity and gravitas.
John Keys
Director of Music, St Mary’s Church Nottingham
I am totally convinced that our Envoy 350-FV is a perfect teaching instrument in addition to being a worthy cathedral instrument. The unique Physis sound generation system is a complete revelation, total authenticity of voicing and fully adjustable to taste. It is five organs in one! Fantastic.
Simon Mercer
Organ Tutor & Academic Tutor, Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester
The Envoy 35-FV is very versatile in its range of stops and has a wonderful sound whether accompanying hymns, psalms and anthems or solo work. Our Summer Concert featured the organ as the main event, the Church was full and everyone was impressed with the wonderful sound.
A big thank you to Wensleigh, Jeremy and all the team at Viscount Classical Organs for their encouragement, help and hard work in providing us with a fine instrument.
Andrew Stone
Organist & Choir Master, St Michael’s Colyford in Devon
It is with much pleasure that I write to thank you you for the installation of our Viscount Envoy 35-F organ which was in place by Christmas 2016.
Although I am the official organist, I am not qualified to comment technically, but visiting organists have been very favorably impressed by our acquisition and have very much enjoyed exploring and playing the instrument. Having been without an organ for almost 3 years, the congregation are delighted with the sound and the versatility of the instrument and are enjoying singing to its accompaniment.
From our first enquiries about the organ and the possible options for our church, the process proceeded with personal attention and courtesy. This was followed by the arrival of Jeremy with a trial organ. Once in place he hosted an introductory evening to which all interrested parties were invited to come and hear the capabilities of the instrument and to ask questions. We must thank him for his patience and expertise on this evening. He certainly made the instrument come alive in our beautiful church. This was of particular importance to us as the congregation immediately realised that this instrument was very good value for money and enabled us to rest in the knowledge that the excellent warranty and guarantee were an invaluable asset.
Those of us who play the organ, continue to enjoy learning more and more of the possibilities whilst also knowing we can just switch on and play. It was s superb Christmas present and will be for many more years to come.
Thank you once again Jeremy and the Viscount organ team for our superb instrument.
