Will Fraser produces films of the highest quality
Will has been busy for some years producing documentaries and films about the organ of the highest quality from locations right around the globe. This is not just great musicians playing great instruments but includes much historic and scholarly information on the use and development of the instrument over the centuries. Did you know renowned organ builder Renatus Harris was the grandson of Thomas Dallam, himself a great builder and remembered today for making a mechanical clock organ presented to the Sultan Mehmet of Turkey?
Watching these films, I also learnt that Handel had a set-up that allowed him to play an organ from his Harpsichord while directing orchestra and singers. Who would have thought that modern day midi connections had been anticipated by three hundred years. Such is the unexpected and whimsical information that is to be found woven into the scripts of these high quality films.
Will’s most recent ‘Magnum Opus’ is a lengthy and fascinating account of the ‘The English Organ’. Containing over 13 hours of material the film takes us around the UK in the company of Daniel Moult and many other well know figures from the UK world of organ building and church music playing some of the rare and historically unmolested instruments that remain on the UK musical landscape. Additionally there are presentations of some of the great British instruments exported to overseas customers.
Daniel Moult has presented and performed in several of these films. He is one of the leading international concert organists and is a brilliant ambassador for our instrument. Other films include The Genius of Cavaillé-Coll, The Voice of King’s, films about Widor, Vierne, Franck and Reger, and the newest release, Bach and Expression.

I have had a passion for church organs since the tender age of 12. I own and run Viscount Organs with a close attention to the detail that musicians appreciate; and a clear understanding of the benefits of digital technology and keeping to the traditional and emotional elements of organ playing.
