A message from our MD, David Mason
We are ready to open up our showroom to customers and wish to provide you with some information about how we aim to do this in a way that is safe for you to visit and, in time, for our staff to return to work.
We know how important it is to give our customers the opportunity to experience our instruments “in the flesh” as it were, so we have been eagerly waiting for the lead from government on when this would be possible.
We would like to thank those who have enquired by phone and email since March 2020, and thank you for your patience.
With the last update from the PM on his three steps to easing the lockdown, we are preparing to tentatively welcome visitors back to our showroom, but with the following guidance below in place to share how that will happen.
Visits will be appointment only
While the majority of our staff are still furloughed, we have a period whereby it is only myself manning our office and showroom. To this end, it will be most helpful to organise visits by appointments.
If you are interested in coming to view or play a specific instrument:
Please do contact me direct on enquiries@viscountorgans.net or by mobile on 07836 336 063. If it goes to voicemail, please do leave your name, a contact number and some possible dates that you would like to visit. I will return your call and confirm.
What you can expect at a visit
We will ask that you use our available hand-gel dispenser to clean your hands in our reception area before you head into the showroom. While it irks me not to welcome you with a handshake and introduce myself – please know that I would love to, but will refrain from shaking your hand at the moment.
We will keep a 2metre distance wherever possible and wear face masks. You can view our instruments in the showroom and if you are wanting to play one, please do. We have hand gel on hand by the instruments as well, should you want to clean your hands beforehand and certainly afterwards as well.
Please try to refrain from touching other instruments as much possible – however I will be with you and can easily wipe these down as well, if you want to.
You are welcome to then use our hand gel in our reception area again after your visit.
We normally only have one customer visiting us at a time and this will certainly continue to be the case during the lockdown easing.
Please note that our on-site staff toilet facilities will not be available for visitors at this time. We will also not be offering any drinks or refreshments at this time, so please do bring along a bottle of water with you, which you can take home with you again.
If you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not make an appointment at this time. We look forward to welcome you once you return to health, and are more than happy to answer any of your questions by phone or email in this instance.
Our internal cleaning procedures
As musicians ourselves, we care for our instruments like they are our own, so our normal procedures are to clean our instruments regularly. During the easing of the pandemic lockdown though we have added extra cleaning routines to safeguard our visitors. Before any booked appointments we clean our instrument keyboards, so that you can be assured they are clean before you play them.
After each visitor, we clean the instrument that the visitor has played.
We thank you for your kind attention on how we are navigating showroom visits at this point in time. I will update the information as we move through the government’s phases of lockdown easing.
For any questions, please do contact me on enquiries@viscountorgans.net.
I have had a passion for church organs since the tender age of 12. I own and run Viscount Organs with a close attention to the detail that musicians appreciate; and a clear understanding of the benefits of digital technology and keeping to the traditional and emotional elements of organ playing.
