Almost exactly a year ago we were asked to find a new home for a very pretty small pipe organ in a Methodist Church that was about to be converted into flats. It was a sensationally successful social media campaign finding many offers for the instrument and a post that reached over 175,000 readers. We hope we can achieve the same again with the instrument featured below.
We have just been asked to see if we can help find this interesting small pipe organ (2 manual) a new owner to enjoy its charm. It is currently located in a house near Tiverton and was built by an amateur organist and clergyman for his own home practice use and enjoyment.
Pipe organ specifications
It is an unusually large specification for a home instrument though I imagine many of the upper pitches will be derived and not from independent ranks.

Relocating this instrument
There is reasonable time available to relocate this instrument which is available free to any person who is prepared to dismantle and take away at their own expense. There is good off road parking at the house so this removal process need not be too rushed.
It appears the action may need some TLC with sticking notes but as it has to be completely dismantled any repairs can be done before the rebuild. It looks from the photo that the pedal has electric action.
To arrange a viewing of the instrument please contact Tim Greenslade by e mail at newhomefororgan@gmail.com
I have had a passion for church organs since the tender age of 12. I own and run Viscount Organs with a close attention to the detail that musicians appreciate; and a clear understanding of the benefits of digital technology and keeping to the traditional and emotional elements of organ playing.

I have been writing music for most of my life. I have written many songs for the Lord!I hear music in my heart, head and ear.I write either words, then music or hear music in my minds ear then create a song and apply it.I could not afford to own a pipe organ, yet, l would like to play my songs to the lord on one.Do you have any suggestions as to where in Lake County,Florida that I could, personally, play my god songs?
I would like very much to play a pipe organ.Given this opportunity,my heart would explode with joy! Any ideas as to who would allow me this lifetime opportunity?

Hi Eugene,
I am so pleased you are developing a love for the organ. You should perhaps try and make contact with your local chapter of the AGO. Here is their web site address hwww.agohq.org. They can help you make contact with your local organ network. Good luck with your mission. Regards David

Hi David,
Kindly help me with the cost of a portable, modern pipe organ for a small church (used and new). I want to see if I will be able to work out raising fund for one for where I worship.

Hello Elizabeth, Thats a difficult question to answer in the UK. I think you are in Nigeria where it will be even harder for me to give you guidance. In the UK you may well find a church that is closing that will give away an instrument but the cost of removing repairing and rebuilding could easily get to over £30,000 and often the scope of the repairs needed will not be known until the instrument has been fully dismantled. A really small instrument such as you saw in this blog might be as little as £10,000. The unknown with this particular instrument was the amount of woodwork replacement needed as it was badly infested with woodworm. A new pipe organ of the size in this blog could easily be £80,000 to £100,000 which is of course why many churches have to use our digital organs which are so very much cheaper. A very approximate rule of thumb for a brand new pipe organ will be about £20,000 per stop so our smallest digital organ that we sell for about £16,000 with an external speaker system would cost over £400,000 as a real pipe instrument. Good luck with your search. Regards David
