To encourage more musicians to take up the organ and existing organists to develop their skills and grow their confidence, the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) has relaunched Church Music Skills (Organ). This programme could be a great tool for our customers, or anyone who might be interested in learning to play this fantastic instrument.
Church Music Skills learning course
Church Music Skills is a distance learning course which enables students to become leaders and enablers of music in their local church. It has now been brought into an online environment, with more engaging, interactive content designed to suit individual learning needs. You can learn at your own pace from anywhere in the world, with no specific time commitments, and gain a certificate issued by the RSCM.
The programme combines private study at home and practical experience in the student’s own church, with assignments assessed by one of our team of experienced tutors. It is open to students from the UK and abroad.
Church Music Skills Organ
CMS Organ is for anyone, from anywhere in the world, who wants to develop foundational skills in playing the organ in a church context. The re-launch of Church Music Skills begins in January 2024 with CMS Organ.
You can find more information about the course and its contents, how the programme works and current fees on the RSCM website.
Those who register for Church Music Skills before 31st March 2024 benefit from a special introductory rate.
I have had a passion for church organs since the tender age of 12. I own and run Viscount Organs with a close attention to the detail that musicians appreciate; and a clear understanding of the benefits of digital technology and keeping to the traditional and emotional elements of organ playing.
