Life is back to pre pandemic normal. It’s five years since the arrival of coronavirus dramatically changed how the world worked. The impact on all of us was huge.
There were some winning changes but for the most part the huge disruption that flowed from lockdowns and fear damaged us all personally and our businesses. Viscount did better than many. As the church market disappeared, we were compensated by an increase in home customer demand, although many of those customers were accelerated into the purchase that they had planned for some years ahead. So behind that raised demand lay a trough which materialised quite early in 2021.
The road that had been one of consistent year on year growth had become bumpy and I soon gave up any idea of making business predictions. Today a rare sight in our warehouse has repeated, a near empty building as we wait for the next delivery to arrive from Italy. Even three of those organs in the picture below are sold just waiting for us to arrange delivery dates.

A full 40 ft truck with 20 instruments has now arrived, with many of them already sold. This truck follows on only a month after the last near full truck taking us back to almost the truck a month that we needed pre pandemic.
Happy days are here again. Our pre pandemic business pattern seems restored. It was a long time coming but it’s a very welcome return to the pattern of business we enjoyed last in 2019.

I have had a passion for church organs since the tender age of 12. I own and run Viscount Organs with a close attention to the detail that musicians appreciate; and a clear understanding of the benefits of digital technology and keeping to the traditional and emotional elements of organ playing.
