Finally the restoration of the famous Hill Organ at Selby Abbey is complete! And to celebrate – we are joining Selby Abbey in one big grand celebration concert to mark this milestone.
Shortly after installing our instrument in 2014 we recorded DVD’s of John Scott Whiteley and D’Arcy Trinkwon playing our instrument while their Hill organ was being restored. You may also remember over the summer last year we supported the Abbey in a series of summer concert recitals to help raise money for the restoration project.
And now – we are so pleased to be a part of this celebration and the event will be all more amazing as you will have the chance to see The Royal Northern Sinfonia being conducted by Adrian Partington, with organists John Scott Whiteley and D’Arcy Trinkwon returning to the Abbey for this momentous day.
You can expect to hear
Elgar – Cockaigne Overture
Joseph Jongen – Sinfonia Concertante Op 81
Alexander Guilmant – Symphony No 2 in A Major Op 91

I have had a passion for church organs since the tender age of 12. I own and run Viscount Organs with a close attention to the detail that musicians appreciate; and a clear understanding of the benefits of digital technology and keeping to the traditional and emotional elements of organ playing.
